Library After Dark: Music Icons on Friday, January 31 from 7-9pm. Legendary artist John Van Hamersveld and rock & roll photographer Henry Diltz discuss their careers and experiences working with music's classic artists of the Sixties and Seventies.
An alumnus of El Segundo High School, John surfed the local South Bay beaches as he grew up. He is known for his movie poster of "The Endless Summer" and for designing more than 300 record jackets for bands including The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Jefferson Airplane, The Rolling Stones and KISS.
Henry Diltz has photographed the soundtrack of generations. He was the official photographer at the Monterey International Pop Festival in 1967 as well as Woodstock two years later. His collection of portraits includes Joni Mitchell, Linda Ronstadt, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, The Doors, The Eagles and Jimi Hendrix, just to name a few.
